The Process

Here at Exhibit Dot we pride ourselves on giving an excellent personal service throughout the lifecycle of a given site/project. From the first point of contact, through the design and development, to the site launch and beyond, Exhibit Dot are here to make the process as stress-free as possible.

Specification and Proposal

A meeting will be arranged to discuss in detail the site design and function requirements. This may/should involve more than one of the Exhibit Dot team and possibly more than one person from the client’s management structure to ensure that all parties are aware from the outset exactly what is required and what is proposed.

Exhibit Dot will then draw up a site specification document. This will include our full site proposal including the extent of functionality and prices. The completion of this document may involve further discussions with the client to ensure the clarity of our proposal.

Design

Site design can be approached in 2 different ways but with the same end result:

  • You can supply us with examples of your marketing campaign and we will adapt and optimise the theme for delivery over the web, presenting you with at least two different design mock-ups.
  • We will write a design brief based on your requirements/likes/dislikes and create 2 separate design mock-ups based on that brief.

In both situations, presentation of these mock-ups will be followed by discussions on what is liked/disliked about the designs* and the designs tweaked until one emerges that you, the client, are completely happy with.

* On the rare occasion that a client is completely unhappy with the initial designs presented, we would require further discussions on the design before undertaking more design work, to try and hone our brief further to ensure a satisfactory conclusion.

Development

Once the design is agreed we will build a dummy or template page that will be reflective of your proposed online presence but will lack the extent of the functionality*.

Once this preliminary page has been approved, we move to the actual site build and integration with your databases. Because our development tools are so efficient, a basic site can be built in as little as a few days; dependent on prior delivery of content.

At every stage of the development the client will have access to our development server to track progress on the site and to voice opinions/share views on certain build issues.

* This interim stage helps to iron out any possible issues that may arise due to the difference between the online display and the actual design (i.e. hover states on navigation, differences between sections, etc).

Maintenance

We will instruct you, by way of documentation, on how to use your admin facilities to update the content of your site and will be on call for those occasions when you require further assistance.

Minor amendments that crop up during the lifecycle of the project, and cannot be carried out by the client through the admin facility, are included as part of the service and will not be charged for.

However, any major changes to the website will have to be dealt with in a new proposal.
